Are you fed up with your job? Do you need to change? If so, you are not alone.

In the post-Covid era, more people are quitting their jobs and becoming self-employed or looking for a new role. A key driver for this is work-life balance and throwing off the shackles of old corporate models to do meaningful work and have control over their working lives.

But throwing in the towel and moving on can be daunting. Many factors can prevent this from happening. Significant financial commitments, fear of the unknown, and reduced perceived status can all significantly impact people wanting to make the change but not making the final step.

If you have decided that you’re going to leap either to go full-time on your side hustle or completely change career, there is no doubt that this will be a daunting, challenging, but potentially life-changing.

For those who are brave enough, and I salute you in your endeavour, here are five skills you will need to work on as you transition:

1 — Adaptability

Changing careers can be a daunting task, as it often requires a significant amount of effort and resources. However, it can also be an incredibly rewarding experience, allowing individuals to pursue their passions and find greater satisfaction in their work. Adaptability is one of the most important skills needed for a successful career transition.
