Introduction

Over the last five years, I’ve gone from someone who has never sold anything to working as a financial adviser, business owner, and property investor. Success in any of these areas and life is dependent on sales. Even in non-professional settings, we always sell ideas, trying to influence others and achieve our desired outcomes.

Sales is more than just a business function — the lifeblood drives growth, innovation, and success. From my personal experiences, I’ve realised just how pivotal sales are in shaping the trajectory of any company. This blog aims to share the importance of sales, look at some of the frameworks I’ve learned, and discuss the barriers I’ve experienced to improving this critical skill set.

Sales is often seen as the direct pathway to revenue generation, and this couldn’t be truer. Every successful sale boosts the company’s bottom line and contributes to its long-term sustainability.
